2010

  • Goals
  • To enquire into current practice of all three schools to determine areas that the NZC can be implemented better
  • To determine appropriate assessment procedures in literacy that support student progression in relation to National literacy standards
  • To adopt pedagogically sound practice at the classroom level in order to raise student achievement
  • Meeting dates for 2010
  • to be decided.
  • Schools involved
  • Lindisfarne College, Woodford House, Iona College

  • What have you already achieved? Please tell us your story
  • We are three state integrated schools in the Hawke's Bay region with a proud and long history in the area.
  • All three schools were initially private boarding schools and have gone through many changes in the last 20 years.
  • All three are Yr 7-13 day and boarding schools.
  • Woodford House and Iona College are both girls schools and Lindisfarne College, a boys school. Each Intermediate Department is involved in the cluster.
  • We have attended courses together but this will be the first time we have officially worked together sharing ideas and moderating work.
  • Being a part of high schools poses its own hurdles so it is great for us to have the chance to discuss things we all have in common.
  • We were keen to have like schools to moderate National Standards with and to discuss and share best practice.
  • Each school has come a certain way in implementing the NZC and we are now looking to continue our journey together.
  • We look forward to sharing our ideas and hearing about what other schools are doing.
