This Prezi was created to highlight the purpose of ePortfolios. Although it was presented at a conference with the talk, you may find it interesting on its own.

Jennifer Garvey Berger

Jennifer is a leading educational facilitator working for NZCER. Her Shifting to 21st Century Thinking blog (she has several) has this fantastic video on it by Dan Pink that will challenge your perceptions around what motivated higher level thinking. As a visual experience, it is highly motivating too - just how does he draw like that?

While Dan Pink's presentation is about business, Jennifer challenges us to think about what this means in education. I would love to hear your comments about how you would use this in your schools and with your teachers. Please start a thread above in the discussion tab.

Here's a copy of a recent blog Jennifer wrote that has some more challenges. This short blog entry would be a great starter for a cluster meeting to discuss. http://www.shiftingthinking.org/?s=carving+new+pathways

Levers of Change in Higher Education -
What are the levers of change that are prying at higher education? Will it change? What will it look like?

Maria Anderson uses the tool Prezi very effectively to make her point. This presentation challenges the content focused approach to higher education and insists on the need to change.

Simon Sinek
This powerful video will make you stop and think about how you are working with colleagues to get them to buy into the messages and visions you have, and is easily transferable to your leadership in school situations.
Simon Sinek has a simple but powerful model for inspirational leadership all starting with a golden circle and the question "Why?" His examples include Apple, Martin Luther King, and the Wright brothers -- and as a counterpoint Tivo, which (until a recent court victory that tripled its stock price) appeared to be struggling.
Highly recommended!

Cheryl Doig
Cheryl talks about strategies for developing an effective cluster and is well worth listening to. Even though she is specifically discussing ICT clusters, her strategies relate to the same sort of issues you are having within your own clusters. Setting meaningful and realistic goals, developing clear structures in the beginning, developing collegial support amongst principals, etc, etc.
This is twenty minutes long, but broken into small bite sized pieces so it's easy to find time to get through.
